PV’s science bloodhounds

■ Commander Chris Lowther recently visited the Parel Vallei High School Grade 12 science department to do a presentation about the Bloodhound Supersonic Car (SSC), a British-designed car built by a group of scientists and engineers in an attempt to break the current land speed record. They hope that this car will be able to go faster than 1 609 kilometres an hour. If they can achieve this, the Bloodhound SSC will be the fastest car on the planet. Pictured above are Grade 12 science pupils with Commander Chris Lowther during the class he presented.
