PV tops the charts

■ During August, five Parel Vallei High School musicians took part in the Music Maestro Classical competition held at Somerset College. This annual competition is organised by the music department of Somerset College for classical and jazz musicians in grades 8 to12 and it is open to students from schools in the Helderberg and Boland area. This event recognises young talent and it offers an opportunity for competition among young musicians in the basin. Senior Casey Jacobs, violin and juniors Yesol Jeong, piano; Danielle Kock, violin; Zoë Torres, cello; and Connor Lane, recorder took part in the competition.
