Parel Vallei is honoured to be part of The President’s Award for Youth Empowerment

Their vision is to become the self-development programme of choice for young people in South Africa.

The President’s Award empowers young people between the ages of 14 and 25, by providing a balanced, non-competitive framework for self-development that will increase their self-esteem and enhance their capacity to achieve in whatever context they find themselves: enabling them to become responsible active citizens within their communities.

PV is proud to announce that four of their pupils once again blossomed by taking part in this programme over the past few months: Shannon Barry, Grant Keet and Stephania Kolatsis achieved bronze level, and Abigail Janse van Rensburg achieved the silver level.

To achieve a bronze level, a participant must complete three months in the areas of physical recreation, skills and service.

One of these areas must extend over six months.

They must also undertake an adventurous journey over two days and one night.
