Last week Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club donated 29 boxes of books to the library at Christmas Tinto Primary School in Asanda Village.
The bulk of the books were part of a container of books from Library Aid International and Rotary Club Burnie, Australia. The balance of the books were from a donation from Rotary Club Reading Maiden Erlegh, England. This donation was used to buy Xhosa books.
Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club is closely involved with Christmas Tinto, as they are one of the schools participating in Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club’s literacy and numeracy programmes. The books will be used by the pupils during library periods to encourage reading, as well as using the reference books for school projects.
