Arbor Day was celebrated at Radloff Park last Saturday, where an initiative to plant 1 000 spekboom plants was recently launched. A large number of people joined in the morning’s festivities, and out of the planned 1 000, about 750 were planted. Christopher Kirkman, the chairman of the Friends of Radloff Park (FORP) committee, expressed his delight at the turnout, and said the remainder of the planet-friendly spekboom will be planted as an ongoing project.
