Pinotage prize for Avontuur

■ The Avontuur team and winemaker Jan van Rooyen were awarded the Young Wine Show’s Regional Trophy for pinotage for the estate’s 2018 Pinotage last week. “It comes after a few years where we’ve placed more emphasis on our pinotage vineyards and have changed the style of the wine produced in the cellar too,” says Mr Van Rooyen.
