GOOD Media Manager, Janke Tolmay, in the statement conveyed Mr de Villiers’ notion to resign in order to spend more time with his family, after the passing of his wife, Theresa in April this year.

“Coach has resigned to focus on other endeavours and to spend more time with his family since the passing of his wife earlier this year.

“Coach remains steadfastly committed to the pursuit of social justice and we hope to see his return back to public office,” said Ms Tolmay.

The party further stated that Mr de Villiers will continue to work with the party on the projects he launched to improve sports and recreation facilities in Paarl. “He will continue to work with us to champion the projects he launched to improve access to sports and recreation facilities in Paarl.”

GOOD wished him all the best for his future endeavours and expressed their intention to continue working with him as a valued party member.
