The President’s Award pupils from Parel Vallei High School, with Keller Williams Real Estate agent, Petro Venter, undertook an initiative to collect books, toys, non-perishable food items and clothing to make gift packs that can be handed out to abused children, at the Helderberg Child Abuse Centre, Patch. The organisation annualy receives 450 new referrals of abuse in the Helderberg area. This 24-hour crises service centre is manned by trained volunteer workers who are guided by a Patch supervisor. They are continuously in need of more volunteers and sponsors, and encourage people to get involved and stop the silent cycle of abuse, by contacting them at 021 852 6110 or info@patchchildabusecentre.com, or by making a financial contribution.
