Easter Saturday was one of the rare sunny and windless days recently, when 80 children with their family members participated at the first Gordon’s Bay Easter egg hunt.
The NSRI Easter bunny arrived early and, of course, on a rescue vessel, and soon the children swarmed through the Old Harbour area.
Eighteen different stickers with Easter motifs on needed to be searched and collected to then be swapped for the actual Easter egg bags. The bags had previously been fialled with all kinds of Easter eggs and sweets, donated by members and friends of NSRI Station 9 and Gordon’s Bay Lions Club.
The Easter bunny was beleaguered by young and old in order to get a nice picture taken.
While some children were still on the lookout for the stickers, parents could grab a hot dog and win one of three spot prices.
The NSRI and Lions Club Team will continue with the Easter Egg hunt next year.
