Professor Sean Davison returns as the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Winelands chapter of Mensa South Africa in Somerset West, tomorrow, Thursday July 20, at 7.15pm . Professor Davison, the head of the forensic DNA laboratory at the University of the Western Cape, spoke earlier in the year at Mensa Winelands’ January meeting, on the subject of assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Professor Davison’s research focus is now entirely devoted to cognitive neuroscience, and he has a particular interest in exploring a genetic basis for consciousness and a neuroscientific explanation for God and religious beliefs. His talk is titled “Scientifically investigating the belief in God: Can God be a construct of the brain?’” Guests are welcome, and entry is free.
