Helderberg Hospice Open Gardens takes place on Saturday October 10 and Sunday October 11, during which four gardens will be featured, the second of which is the Newton Garden in Gordon’s Bay.
Imagine walking down a meandering path with beautiful views stretching out in front of you, and a stunning indigenous garden on either side of the path, something which is an everyday occurrence in the Newton Garden.
Secret surprises await the visitor who wanders along the stone pathways – charming seating nooks, an interesting rustic element, or a driftwood feature.
The garden is full of colour, provided by the abundant pincushions, geraniums and felicia.
This is the result of many hours of hard work and planning by the proud owners. Visitors should note that, as the garden is sloped, it is not suited to those with walking difficulties or for wheelchair users.
While in Gordon’s Bay, visitors are encouraged to take the opportunity to enjoy tea or lunch at one of the many restaurants along the beautiful coastline.
