We really appreciated Annemarie Meyer’s article (“Die ou mense van Macassar,” Bolander August 3.
Working in Faure, we got to know some of the people living in Macassar – and certainly got to know quite a lot of its history and its people – but this article put a whole lot of “meat on to the bones”.
It is a story that needed to be told.
“Hulle het vrede gemaak met die verlede, en dit is hoekom daar nooit oor gepraat word nie.”
Dit is regtig merkwaardig.
