Musician Mel Botes, returns to the Drama Factory with an electrifying new show: Guitar Heroes.
After captivating audiences for over 30 years with tributes like Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd and Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits, Mel brings his talent to celebrate guitar greats who have inspired him. Audiences and critics alike have hailed his ability to capture the essence of these iconic bands, praising his pinpoint accuracy and signature “Botes touch”.
Joined by a team of musicians, this show also gives Mel the opportunity to showcase some of his original work together with that of a selection of the most successful rock guitarists of all time.
With Guitar Heroes, audiences are promised a thrilling new experience, drawing on public demand. This production showcases Mel’s personal favourites from guitar legends like Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Chris Rea, BB King and many more.
But Mel isn’t just paying homage and he blends these classics with his original work, creating a unique concert experience.
The show allows Mel to both honour his heroes and unleash his own creative fire, remaining true to his mission of delivering original entertainment concept shows which include David’s Confession and Flight of Bird.
