Meet the winemaker

* Avontuur Estate, between Stellenbosch and Somerset West is set to beat the winter blues this year, with a series of activities designed to be informative, fun and entertaining. The first “In conversation with…” dinner evening kicks off tomorrow, Thursday June 2, from 6pm, when winemaker Jan van Rooyen, pictured, will be interviewed on the couch in the Avontuur Restaurant. He will explain more about the life of a winemaker and also share his passions, loves and pet hates about the industry. A three-course dinner paired with Avontuur wine will be served as part of the evening’s entertainment. The cost is R400, including a welcome drink, three-course meal paired with a glass of wine.
