■ The Pink Geranium, on the corner of the N1 and R304 outside Stellenbosch, is hosting a “Mediterranean-style gardening in the drought” workshop on Saturday April 14, at 10am. Garden designer and freelance garden writer, Cobus Smit, will explain how to have a garden with a Mediterranean look despite the drought, with a demonstration on how to do topiary and hedges using different exotic and indigenous hardy plants. He also will present methods and products to use in the garden to help save water and to keep the soil moist. Tickets cost R355, and include refreshments, a pot, material and a plant for topiary. Entry for children costs R75, and includes planting and decorating a Mediterranean pot. For more information call Elma Coetzee at 021 884 4313.
