Cheryl Rundle, Helderberg Hospice
Mandela Day, which takes place on Tuesday July 18, is all about inspiration, and every person has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better.
Helderberg Hospice believes that people matter until the very last moment of their lives, and we will do all we can, not only to help patients pass peacefully, but to live until they breathe their last breath.
You can help as
well by dedicating your 67 minutes in any of the following ways: “Donation of Love” boxes for our patients contain the following: toothbrush and toothpaste; face cloth and soap; shampoo; toilet roll; hairbrush and comb; Vaseline or body lotion; disposable razor; lip balm; bean bag; magazine and sweets.
We are also taking donations of blankets for winter, fertiliser for our garden, plants and paving for the pathways in our remembrance garden, and carpet tiles for our equipment room.
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Bridgewater Manor knitters for tea at Helderberg Hospice. These women make toys, jerseys and beanies for our raffles (these hand-made are in our shops as well), which raises essential funds for Helderberg Hospice. Last week we asked for two-ply wool, but actually meant to ask for double knit wool, in any colour. If you can donate any of the above items, contact us at 021 852 4608. Thank you!
