Making rugby strides

■ A number of Parel Vallei High School rugby players represented the Helderberg regional development teams in the recent Western Province trials. The under-15 rugby team played a match in Rondebosch on Saturday May 19 as part of the Western Province under-15 talent identification. Today, Wednesday May 23, Leonard de Leeuw and Gethin Josephs will take part in the final WP Craven Week trials against a Durbanville side, and Keanuh Michaels will play in trials at the Western Province Grant Khomo finals. The players are, back from left, Keanuh Michaels, Kyle Slater, Juan Rossouw, Gean van Wyk, Jan Harm Solomons, Ivan Coetzee, Roux Niewoudt, Mikael Mohammed and head of rugby Thinus Pienaar, and front, from left, are, Dean Laubscher, Hiram Cassiem, Kian Middelton, Charles Booysen, Matteo Titus, Leonard de Leeuw, and Gethin Josephs.
