As a bit of fun during lockdown, Platypus Digital has put together a Winelands virtual reality Easter egg hunt.
The goal is to navigate the virtual reality tour and find one Easter egg which is hidden at one of the 18 participating wine estates.
Once you’ve found it, and in order to stand a chance to win some wine, let Platypus Digital know at which wine estate you found the hidden Easter egg.
You can see a bigger Easter egg on the first 360VR panorama at Van Loveren, but the hidden one is much smaller and harder to find – so good luck.
Okay, some tips to help you navigate this virtual reality Easter egg hunt – which is best experienced on a laptop or desktop.
On the top left you can pause the rotation of the panorama and then use your mouse to scroll around.
On the bottom left, click on the thumbnail which will expand all the 360VR panoramas.
You will then see all the wine estates and you can jump directly to any one of the wine estates.Â
Each 360VR panorama will have at least three navigation hotspots to navigate to another wine estates and by using these you should be able to get to every wine estate, otherwise use the expanded display.Â
Each 360VR panorama will also have a link to the wine estates website and other content they may have such as videos, their own VR tour and even a virtual reality wine tasting at Diemersdal so have a look at this.Â
On the first panorama there’s also a link to Stellenbosch Unite, which provides support to over 18 vulnerable communities affected during the Covid-19 pandemic, so this is an opportunity to support them.
When you’ve found the hidden Easter egg, send an email to
