Pensioner and great-grandmother, Valerie Keuning of Gordon’s Bay, has been making good use of the lockdown – knitting colourful beanies for preemie babies and toddlers. She has made about 50 so far, and is still going strong, determined to double that number using all the leftover wool she can find from other projects. The beanies make up part of care packages for new or needy mothers and are very welcome as winter approaches.
