World Suicide Prevention Day is commemorated on Friday September 10 this year, and The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) have alarming figures from the Suicide Helpline which highlight the urgent need within the country for SADAG to continue sharing as much information on suicide prevention as what they possibly can.
On Friday, from 1pm to 2pm SADAG will be hosting a Facebook Live session with experts unpacking depression, warning signs, how to tackle the conversation of suicide and self- harm, how to get help, and what to do if you are worried about a loved one who may be suicidal.
The organisation is urging parents, teachers, community members, colleagues, and families to take part and join in on this free Facebook chat from the comfort of their homes, at work, or anywhere from which you can go online.
