On Saturday November 16, local NGO Iphepha for Pupils held a year-end function, where 25 pupils were equipped with their annual stationery for the coming school year.
The generosity of sponsors enabled Iphepha for Pupils to make this possible, to change the world one pencil at a time.
The function was attended by domestic workers, their children, their employers and Iphepha for Pupils volunteers.
All pupils were children of domestic workers identified by Iphepha for Pupils sponsors.
The function was held in Somerset West at De Hoop Primary’s After Care Centre.
Children where handed their stationery and spoiled with treats and a jumping castle.
The organisation provides
stationery to underprivileged children, whose quality of education is threatened or vulnerable due to limited stationery supplies or total lack thereof.
Iphepha operates without government funding, and is entirely dependent on donations and contributions. Contact them at 082 783 9257 or iphephapupils@gmail.com
