The Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West was honoured with the 2016 National Lilizela Tourism Award in the Meetings, Exhibitions and Special Events (MESE) category, at a gala event in Sandton recently, attended by various key industry players, including South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom. The prestigious award makes it three in a row for the landmark Cape Town property after also taking top honours in the 2016 Sanlam Top Destination Awards and 2016 World Luxury Hotel Awards in the Hotel, 4-star grading categories and Luxury Design Hotel category, respectively, in September and October.
