■ Helderberg Hospice held its first golf day at Somerset West Golf Course on Friday October 19, which raised R35 000. The funds go towards sustaining the services of Hospice home care sisters, who care for patients in their own homes, ensuring that they are able to spend their last days in comfort and dignity, surrounded by their loved ones and all that is familiar and dear to them. Hospice thanks Wouter Geldenhuys, manager at Somerset West Golf Course for all his help and guidance, the golfers who booked four balls, people and institutions who sponsored holes, and the generous prize sponsors who ensured that there were prizes for over half the field. Tony Martin’s four ball won first prize with a score of 94 points.
