Helderberg Hospice
In honour of World Bee Day, which took place on May 20, Cape Honey Bee Conservancy launched an exciting month-long competition with Helderberg Hospice as the beneficiary, combining their love of bees with their commitment for caring for those in need.
The association between the organisations has been years in the making.
Lourens and Dylan Kruger of the Cape Honey Bee Conservancy started the Yellow Box project at Helderberg Hospice Open Gardens, where part of the fees charged for rehousing bees have been donated to Helderberg Hospice.
They helped to gently rehouse an enormous swarm that had taken up residence in the chimney of the Helderberg Hospice Support Centre, risking patients and staff alike.
Lourens and Dylan are passionate about bees and the role they play in conserving our environment, and have chosen to share their passion and generosity with Helderberg Hospice.
Only 500 tickets were made available, and there are still a few up for grabs, so don’t delay in visiting Helderberg Hospice website https://helderberghospice.org.za/product/world-bee-day-fundraiser-support-helderberg-hospice/
For R100 per ticket, your support in this raffle will ensure that individuals and families facing life limiting illnesses receive the care and comfort they deserve just as bees work tirelessly to pollinate and sustain life.
You have a 1 in 500 chance to win one of the following amazing prizes:
* A Private Chef Experience – a dining experience for 6 in your home
* A weekend away at The Boudoir in Riebeek Kasteel for two people
* A bee experience at Morgenster Estate with Cape Honey Bee Conservancy.
This initiative is not just about celebrating bees, but also about spreading kindness and compassion to those in need.
The live draw of winners will take place on air with HelderbergFM, at 1.15pm, on Friday June 21.
