Global Partners in Care, affiliated to the Hospice Foundation in America, has announced that Helderberg Hospice in Somerset West and Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, are the recipients of the 2018 global partnership award, which recognises the efforts of organisations that have demonstrated the core values of a true partnership – commitment, collaboration, staff contribution and commitment, and community outreach and involvement.
“Helderberg Hospice has made a lasting impact on the patients and families needing palliative care,” said Mark Murray, president and CEO of Global Partners in Care. “Hospice of the Western Reserve has shown what a tremendous impact one partnership can have in the delivery of palliative care. The long-term commitment both organisations have made to Global Partners in Care supports the development of partnerships between American organisations and hospice and palliative care providers located in low-resource settings, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa.”
Helderberg Hospice CEO, Gail Sykes, will receive the ward when she attends the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organisation’s annual leadership and advocacy conference on Monday April 15.
