Helderberg Hospice is excited to announce the upcoming addition of a beautiful labyrinth to their Garden of Remembrance.
This meaningful project is being undertaken by Hospice’s Garden Volunteers, who play an enormous role in maintaining the beauty of the extensive garden.
Talisman Hire gave generous assistance with the groundwork that was required to start the labyrinth, and their expertise and resources played a vital role in the preparation for the project, and Helderberg Hospice expressed their deep gratitude for this.
Labyrinths are ancient symbols of peace and mindfulness, offering a unique space for contemplation and solace.
Nestled within the Garden of Remembrance, this new feature will provide a tranquil meditative journey through the labyrinth to find peace and comfort in the beauty of nature.
Helderberg Hospice founder, the late Sr Pat Pigeon, will be honoured in this poignant space.
The hedges are being planted with waterwise and indigenous spekboom and in time will form a dense, eye-catching yellow green edging to the wheelchair-friendly paved pathway.
During this International Volunteer Month, this space stands as a testament to the value that volunteers bring to so many aspects of the work of the non-profit organisation.
Helderberg Hospice Tree of Lights evening was held last week in the Garden of Remembrance.
The Helderberg community came together in a beautiful celebration of poetry and song to remember their loved ones, and to place their name cards on the Tree, which will remain lit throughout December.
