■ Once a year Helderberg College takes time to remind both students and staff of how important the library is, as the library is the hub and heart around which all learning takes place at an academic institution. The college’s library week took place in April, themed “My Library, Your Library”. Activities included a readathon, poetry time, story time, watching films and competitions. For story time, the college invited children from the community, and the stories were told by the members of the community represented by Helderberg Society for the Aged (HSFA). “We want the children to come back to Helderberg College library when they are older members of the community and associate the library as being a pleasant environment in which to spend time,” said the Helderberg College library manager, Gail Geduld.
