Jackie Blundell, committee member,
U3A
The Bolander is an extremely popular and informative way of finding out “What’s On” in the area.
Organisations appreciate the newspaper promoting their activities.
The organisation
for retired persons, U3A, invites public guests to all the general meetings in Strand Town Hall, when they read in the Bolander of a subject which particularly interests them.
It has been noted that in some recent Bolander issues immediately prior
to meetings, there
has been no
publicity.
If the Bolander promotes the U3A meetings it does give the chance to the retired public, who do not wish to be members of U3A, to attend a meeting, usually held on the first Wednesday of the month.
May is an exception with the public holidays during the first two weeks, so the next meeting will be held on Wednesday May 15, at 10am, at which Dr Wendy Black, the archaeologist from Iziko Museum in Cape Town will be the guest speaker.
Thank you Bolander, for ensuring that the U3A meetings are advertised.
