International Yoga Day was celebrated across the world on Sunday June 21, with enthusiasts from Cape Town to Kathmandu to Paris, all taking part in socially-distanced poses. The day has been celebrated annually since 2015, since its inception in the United Nations General Assembly. Yoga is a physical, mental and spritual practice which originated in India, and has experienced a resurgence of popularity in recent times, and is also being used in schools, homes for the elderly, and prisons, for example, to promote wellness, strength, flexibility and mindfulness.
