Visitors can enjoy visiting 14 gardens in the 18th annual Elgin Open Gardens, in the Elgin and Bot River districts, over the weekends of October 27 and October 28, and November 3 and November 4, from 10am to 5pm. These range from large established country gardens to small town gardens, all in a setting of great natural beauty.
Many gardens will have plants for sale, and some will also offer teas and light meals. Many of the wine estates will be open as well. Full details with a map are in a free leaflet in all major Western Cape nurseries. This can also be downloaded from www.elginopengardens.co.za
Some gardens are free, others charge between R10 and R30. For more information, call 021 844 0154, 078 021 2101 or 083 458 3790, or email info@elginopengardens.co.za
