Explore the world of Babylonstoren’s olives at the wine estate in the Franschhoek wine valley on Wednesday April 20. From 10am to 3pm, visitors will get a chance to take a stroll through the olive orchards with farmer Ian de Villiers and Linda Costa, doyenne of the olive industry in South Africa, who will explain how to grow, maintain and harvest olives.
Attendees will then move from orchard to press as Klaas Stoffberg, the estate’s resident olive man, will explain the production process. Thereafter there will be chance to delve into different olive oil varieties for cooking and dunking followed by a tasting.
