The Bloodhound supersonic car is a British-designed car built by a group of scientists and engineers in an attempt to break the current land speed record next year in Hakskeen Pan in the Northern Cape – and be the first car to go faster than 1 000mph (1 609km/* ).
With the Bloodhound car they would like to demonstrate that careers in engineering and science can be rewarding, varied and exciting.
Pupils from Parel Vallei High School in Somerset West found presentation inspiring and will follow the project on www.imeche.org/bloodhound
