Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch (SWNW) recently held their quarterly e-waste collection day, and wishes to thank everyone in the community who supported this drive by dropping off their e-waste and scrap metal.
They also thank the members who volunteered to manage this process, especially John Kleyn for the use of his truck and trailers. Items dropped off will either be donated to NPOs, exchanged for donations to raise funds for the SWNW communication centre, or responsibly recycled. These collections minimise waste being left out on bin day. The added bonus was 24 new members who signed up to SWNW.
SWNW has a 24/7 communication centre with a radio network to over 500 residents, and are also part of a network of licence plate recognition (LPR) cameras spread throughout the greater peninsula.
Anyone who would like to become a member can email somersetwestnw@gmail.com or visit www.somersetwestnw.org.za, and t here is no fee.
Pictured at the collection day are Brian Paris, Valecia Paris, Annetjie Robertson and Grant Immelman.
