The Drama Factory presents Brothers in Arms, featuring SAMA award-winning guitarist Albert Frost and veteran Robin Auld, on Friday July 26, at 7.30pm.
These two rock guitarists go way back together since the old days of the Brass Bell, when Frost was the young gunslinger with South African blues legends, The Blues Broers – and Auld was having national hits with Z-Astaire.
Over the years they have collaborated many times both as a duo and with bands, headlining shows at Grahamstown, Oppikoppi and many others.
Their combined show features the various roots, viz. African, Folk and Blues influences in their playing in a mix of improvisation and roots songwriting.
Dubbed the “South African Hendrix”, Frost deftly alternates between rhythm and lead, showcasing his extraordinary skills on acoustic and electric guitars.
Slide guitar, harmonica, African blues guitar stylings and soul vocals all feature in the fresh sound of Auld.
Tickets cost R180 for pensioners and students, while standard tickets cost R200. Book at www.thedramafactory.co.za or call 073 215 2290 for more information.
