The BeGraceful Studio, based in Somerset West, presented their second Playhouse Theatre Show in the form of a dance showcase, A New Season from Thursday November 4, to Saturday November 13.
The locally-based studio offers dance classes for young and old. Owner, Leanne de Jager, has been dancing since the age of 6, and has training in many different styles.
The studio offers a wide variety of dance styles including contemporary, jazz, hiphop, solo latin, bhangra, couples dancing and more. This gives students exposure to a great variety of dancing.
“We are a fun-filled family studio with students as young as 5 years old and as old as 65 years old! I have many mom’s and daughters dancing at the studio which is very special. A lot of adults want to start dancing or perhaps get back into it after many years, and we offer that for them,” Ms de Jager said.
According to Ms de Jager, the dance showcase at the Playhouse Theatre, was sold out on opening night already for their 2-week run.
The benefits of dance are endless and the social and life skills taught are so valuable, explained Ms de Jager.
Lessons are offered Monday – Saturday from 8am – 8pm. BeGraceful Studio also had an open day on Monday November 15. Contact Leanne on begracefulstudio@gmail.com for more information.
