Cycle stars shine

Track superstar Bernard Esterhuizen and pocket rocket Anriëtte Schoeman clinched the 2016 Medihelp Stellenbosch Cycle Tour victory over the weekend. Team Giant’s Esterhuizen took the win in idyllic racing conditions, finishing the 97km route in 2:21:11. Defending champion, Anriëtte Schoeman (Team Africa Silks Bestmed) claimed the victory in the women’s race in a time of 2:32:15. As the final premier seeding event for the 2017 Cape Town Cycle Tour, over 5 000 cyclists lined up to participate in the second biggest road race in the Western Cape.
