Concert success

Alastair Morgan, Somerset West

The recent concert at Erinvale in Somerset West was, in effect, a fundraiser to assist with support and training of young disadvantaged musicians, and was greatly supported by the Somerset West music-loving community, resulting in a full-house performance.

Shane Mdutyulwa specifically, an essentially untrained singer of Italian arias, has been identified for such support and recently came under the wing of Tish Morgan, herself a singer, teacher and music events organiser for several decades, who has in recent years produced a number of our year-end Christmas pageants at Vergelegen Wine Estate on behalf of Helderberg Hospice.

Shane performed several well-known Italian tenor arias, including the highly-emotional Nessun Dorma, with a number of outstanding soprano performances by Louise Senekal, Denise Rogers and Tish, the last two of whom are friends who have sung and produced many secular and ministry events.

Thank you once more to Bolander for your contribution in disseminating the concert details, and the wonderful attendance.
