The City of Cape Town is phasing in allowable operations within Level 4 of the Covid-19 lockdown period.
South Africa moved to Level 4 restrictions on Friday May 1.
The City says customer contact office remains will remain closed. Residents are encouraged to continue making use of all online and telephonic service options.

Under Level 4, only registered businesses with valid permits are allowed to use City drop off facilities. residents are encouraged to please stockpile their clean, dry recyclables until public access to City drop off facilities resumes.

For faults and emergencies please send an SMS to 31220 or email power@capetown.gov.za or faultreport.centre@capetown.gov.za. The fixing of individual streetlights will also be phased in again over the next few weeks.
The reading of residential credit meters on site will only be done at lower COVID-19 levels. Customers will continue to be billed on estimates. Customers may also send a photo of the meter reading by email to Electricity.MeterReading@capetown.gov.za or phone 021 444 6286/8432/8478/1554 or 0860 103 089.

Billings are being based on estimations. Estimations are being done over the lockdown period and compared to the same period of consumption in 2019. If in doubt, please pay an equivalent amount to the previous month’s invoice. Customers may request an invoice via email to copy.invoice@capetown.gov.za
