The Voice of Angels, vocal group consisting of 24 talented children aged 11 to 14, will release their new CD in Stellenbosch, on Saturday May 28.
The Angels are all members of the internationally acclaimed Tygerberg Children’s Choir, one of the Western Cape’s proudest export products and ambassadors in harmony. This choir, under the leadership of world-renowned choir leader Hendrik D Loock, is widely regarded as one of the very best children’s choirs in the world today – and has won every major international choir competition since it was formed 44 years ago. It is due to this very solid musical background that the Tygerberg Children’s Choir was the obvious choice for the Voice of Angels project.
The group’s first CD has enjoyed tremendous success, include winning a 2009 South African Music Award for Best Classical Crossover Album, as well as being nominated for Best Newcomer. The Voice of Angels was chosen to perform for His Royal Highness Prince Edward during a visit to the country.
The Voice of Angels Volume 2, which includes hits such as Let the River Run, Orinoco Flow, Scarborough Fair, Ave Maria, Ben, Sailing and Panis Angelicus. will be launched during a performance at the Drostdy Theatre, Stellenbosch at 7pm. Tickets cost R120, at 087 943 2459 or info@drostdyteater.co.za
