Helderberg Hospice began the new year on a high note with Change Makers Club Mega Draw, held at the Somerset West Bowls Club on Friday January 10.
The event saw the grand prize of R10 000 awarded to one lucky winner, with a total prize pool of R18 000 shared among five participants.
The Change Makers Club, a cornerstone of Helderberg Hospice’s fundraising efforts, offers supporters a chance to win while making a difference.
For just R50 a month, participants are entered into a monthly draw, with R9 000 in prizes awarded each month for 10 months of the year.
Twice annually, the stakes are raised with a live mega draw featuring double the prize pool – and double the fun.
Winners are announced on HelderbergFM and Helderberg Hospice’s social media platforms, creating widespread community engagement and excitement.
At the recent event, ticket holders and their guests were warmly welcomed with drinks and snacks, setting the stage for a memorable evening.
Helderberg Hospice CEO, Robert de Wet, took the opportunity to share how consistent monthly support through the Change Makers Club significantly impacts the organisation’s ability to provide quality hospice and palliative care to the community.
“For 40 years, Helderberg Hospice has been serving this community with dedication and compassion,” said Mr De Wet.
“The funds raised through initiatives like the Change Makers Club help sustain our home care program, ensuring that individuals facing life-limiting illnesses receive professional care in the comfort of their own homes.
“This brings dignity and peace to our patients and their loved ones, supported by our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, social workers, and volunteers.”
Among those spotted enjoying the festivities were longtime supporters Linda Godlonton with Michael Johnson, and Peter Siebert, members of the monthly giving program for 20 years, reflecting the strong ties between Helderberg Hospice and its loyal community.
The Change Makers Club is more than a lucky draw; it’s a way for individuals to make a meaningful contribution while being part of an exciting initiative.
