The Helderberg Village Music Society has relaunched and will be hosting their first concert on Saturday August 12, in celebration of this launch.
The chamber music concert will feature performances by violinist Pieter Joubert and cellist Pearl Jung, accompanied by Franҫois du Toit.
Pearl Jung is currently pursuing post-graduate studies with Graham du Plessis at UCT and is an ad-hoc player with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and an active chamber musician.
Pieter Joubert is a second year B.Mus. student under the tutelage of Professor Farida Bacharova at the University of Cape Town.
He was a semi-finalist in two editions of the National Youth Music Competition and has won several prizes, including “Best performance of a South African work” and “Top-placed 1st or 2nd year student”.
Pieter and Pearl will be accompanied by Franҫois du Toit, one of South Africa’s leading concert pianists and musicians, and is an Associate Professor of Piano and Head of Practical Studies at SA College of Music at UCT; he is also a director of the Cape Chamber Music Collective.
The concert will be held at 4pm on the Saturday afternoon at Talani Terrace, Helderberg Village, Somerset West.
Tickets cost R100 and are available through Quicket. Booking is essential in order to gain access to Helderberg Village.
