Can somebody please tell us what is going on with the R44 between the N2 and Strand Golf Club?
It is – and has been for years – the worse bit of roadworks project management I have ever seen.
Nothing seems to be getting done. It is a complete shambles: inefficient and, because of the lack of lane markings, etc, dangerous.
Have Martin & East gone bust?
Or are they being paid by the month, regardless of the fact that nothing is getting done?
Nothing, that is, except occasionally for some desultory, totally pointless, cleaning and minor spadework.
Cape Town prides itself on its efficient city management.
This is not a good advert for that.
By the time of going to print, neither the City of Cape Town, nor Western Cape Transport MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela, had responded to Bolander’s request for comment on Mr Scott’s letter.
