Bring your poems to light

The Afrikaans Taalmonument (ATM) in Paarl is once again hosting a workshop for writers, on Saturday June 15, with poetry expert Professor Bernard Odendaal. The workshop forms part of the monument’s Youth Day commemorations, and participants’ best Afrikaans poems will be considered for the Green Gallery exhibition at the monument. The workshop will discuss various aspects of poetry, and includes a practical section to polish participants’ poems. As it is aimed at people who want to gain insight into improving their poems, they are encouraged to take one of their poems along.  Mr Odendaal, the director of the ATKV-Skryfskool, is an expert in the field of Afrikaans poetry, and a published poet, songwriter and essayist.
