The Paarl Cycle Tour, organised by the Rotary Club of Paarl under the auspices of the Pedal Power Association (PPA), will take place on Sunday February 2, starting at Fairview wine estate, at 6am. Nearly 2Â 000 cyclists are expected to take part.
Motorists might experience some congestion on the Old Paarl Road and the Suid Agter Paarl Road, between 5am and noon.
The Suid Agter Paarl Road
will be a one-way for the duration of the race, from 5am to 11.30am, allowing only northbound traffic.
Motorists travelling along the R44 from Wellington will not be able to turn off towards Fairview before 11.30am, but will have to make a detour via Klapmuts to reach Paarl.
This is a major fundraising event for community development projects in the Paarl Valley.
