Daniel von der Heyden of Somserset College Junior School, centre, won the gold medal for the under-10 boys’ long jump, with a jump of 4.32m, and the silver medal for the under-10 boys’ 80m sprint, at the Western Province Athletics Championships at Blue Downs Stadium on Saturday.
Daniel is flanked on the podium by Jonathan Kitanga, second place, and Salegh de Vries, third place.
Adam Burger, not pictured, also from Somerset College Junior School, won the gold medal for the under-13 boys’ high jump, with a jump of 1.59m.
