Bryony sent this photograph of Elise Pauw, owner of Station Bargain Warehouse Fabric, in Somerset West, and and one of the Together Against Covid support team, Thembinkosi Vavi, were on hand to deal with the blur of activity at the shop on Friday. They received more than 1 200 Jars of Hope for Mandela Day (and still counting…). Gratitude was expressed for these generous donations from the Somerset West Neighbourhood Watch (SWNW) and community of the Helderberg. Basin. Station Bargain Warehouse volunteered to receive and fill the bottles, put on stickers and covers, and Pam Golding (Somerset West) printed over 2 000 labels. Dr Bryony May, from Together Against Covid, was responsible for distributing the bottles, keeping everyone up to date with photographs at the collection and drop-off points, and forwarding voice messages of grateful recipients.
