An exhibition including decorative wall panels made by high school pupils who did an upcycling workshop with Heath Nash and his team from Langa, is currently at the Paul Roos Art Garden which was launched by Paul Roos Gymnasium’s IS Art Gallery and Absa last week.
The PRG Art Garden and Coffee Shop is a pop-up art exhibition that showcases sculptures by renowned local artists. Art collectors with a love of sculpture and garden art are invited to visit this special exhibition at the Markötter Sports Complex in Stellenbosch.
The exhibition runs until Sunday October 30. It also serves as Paul Roos’s contribution towards Garden Town – an annual celebration of spring and all things garden, in Stellenbosch.
The exhibition boasts small to lifesize works by artists such as Cornelia Stoop, Wilma Cruise, Noria Mabasa, Robin Kitinyo, Egon Tania, Strijdom van der Merwe, Arno Morland and many more.
The young ones who worked with Heath Nash, learned how to make art out of used milk bottles – an initiative supported by the Rupert Museum. A portion of the income raised from all art sales will be allocated towards the Sponsor-a-Paul-Roos fund – a fund aimed at supporting learners from less-privileged households.
Exhibition visiting hours from 10am to 4pm until Saturday October 29; and 9am to 2pm on Sunday October 30.
