Young Angie was found wandering the streets on a cold wet morning. She was severely malnourished and busy scavenging the litter bins in a camping resort for anything to eat. She was immediately responsive and trusting when PetPals volunteers offered her some food. She basically collapsed in the arms of one of the PetPals volunteers and could not even get into the vehicle by herself when she was rescued.
Angie was not wearing a collar or tag, and she was also not micro-chipped. After her rescue from the streets, she was taken to an amazing foster home where she has been recovering and gaining back her strength. Despite her ordeal of living on the streets for who knows how long, her gentle soul and kind demeanour are clear for all around her to see. Angie was bathed, inoculated, and de-wormed within the first few days of being rescued. She has also since been sterilised and checked out by the vet recently who pronounced her in good health despite her being severely malnourished. Despite being underweight, she is gaining weight, as well as confidence, by the day. Angie is still very young. The vet estimates her to be only about 1 year old.
She is now ready to be permanently rehomed to her forever loving home, she has been in dedicated foster care since mid April 2016. Angie is house-trained and will be the perfect companion to a loving family. Angie is great with people (including children), as well as dogs (big and small). She has not been exposed to cats as yet. Her ideal forever home will be one where she has at least one doggie playmate. Although she is highly responsive, intelligent and obedient, she is too gentle to be a watch dog. She needs a forever home where she can be pampered and be able to sleep inside her home with the people that cares for her. She deserves it after having spent so many cold (and sometimes wet) nights on the streets.
PetPals’s usual adoption process will apply, which includes an adoption form and fee of R350, as well as a home check.
