Hirsch’s has long been a proponent of giving back to the communities in which they operate. Earlier this year, they had the privilege of delivering and installing a new Boiling Table and gas bottle with Totai to a feeding scheme in Macassar.
The residents running the scheme, alongside a local non-profit organisation, work tirelessly to provide meals for 120 children in need.
In celebration of Mandela Day, Hirsch’s staff returned to the community and handed out soup during the cold weather and books from their nationwide book drive. Hirsch’s Shane Spencer says: “We were first approached by Lynette Afonso, an incredible woman dedicated to supporting this vital cause. We were moved by the efforts of local residents Joanne Visser and Merle de Bruin, who open their homes to feed children each week.
“This experience highlights the significant impact that collective support and generosity can have on communities. By extending a helping hand, we can create lasting change and bring hope to those who need it most.”
