A community warrior

■ The Helderberg Society for the Aged (HSFA) has appointed Shireen van Reenen, pictured, as community development coordinator. Shireen is involved with the management and strategic growth of the HSFA community project in Garden Village. The project aims to uplift and care for the elderly within the Garden Village area in Somerset West. Shireen also assists in the management and running of activities at Vonke House in Lourensford Road, Somerset West. The service allows senior citizens to become a member of the retirement community and enjoy benefits such as hair salon visits, meal tickets, social activities and events.
